An update for Two Roads!

Please read this newsletter all the way through!  I wanted to give you an update now that I’ve been back from Uganda for about 10 days!   We do have a new name for our location thanks to my daughter Andrea who suggested….The Junction!  You know where Two Roads meet…it’s called a Junction!  My son has prepared a script for this which we will be placing on the wall around the Junction it will look like this!

Here is a great picture of our staff in Uganda with Rosette on the left, Amos in the middle and
Rosette’s sister, Rose on the right! (Rose isn’t actually on staff…she just happens to look identical to her
sister!) They have been working hard to get all the kids back in School for the last 2 weeks!

What a blessing they have both been to our recent mission team and to me particularly as we walked through some difficult times together. God placed them here “for such a time as this!”

I know many of you are concerned about the situation at the center and possibly with your sponsorship. I want to assure you that all the two Roads sponsored children are in school and having their fees paid!  We are taking care of these children!!  Beginning with the second term of this year all the Two Roads children will be working exclusively through out Two Roads staff. Any of the children who are sponsored through Victory and Pastor Edward will be unaffected by this change.

We are no longer working with Junior and you may see him  posting things on Facebook and he might even be messaging you.  I would just encourage you to sever ties with him.  (Of course you are free to do what you want in this regard.)  He may tell you things that are not true and he may ask you for money since we are no longer supplying him with any funds.   Just know that we are separating from him for very important reasons and we didn’t make this decision lightly. There are still things pending concerning Junior and Educate a Child, but I won’t elaborate any more on this right now.

Please be encouraged that God has opened a wide door of opportunity for us!!  He has provided a new place!  He has provided funds to immediately get all the items we need to furnish and equip the Junction! (He has provided $17,500 to date!!)

Finally, I sent this out a few days ago to those who had previously expressed an interest in going to Uganda on mission this summer. I realize there may be someone else out there who is also interested, so I am going to post essentially what I sent out a few days ago.

To all interested in a Mission to Uganda,

You are receiving this email because you have indicated an  interest in going to Uganda on mission during the summer of 2019.  Lots of changes have happened just in the last month in Kabale, Uganda!  Two Roads
now has its own staff and our own place!  The place is called the Junction and we will be moving in over the next few weeks.  We are excited to be able to expand what we can do with the children God has entrusted us with! This summer is going to be a great time of new beginnings!!

We plan to have at least 1 mission project to Kabale and maybe  2…but we need to act fast!  I just got back from Uganda last week so I am already behind.  The first dates that we are going to lock in are July 17th – August 1st.  If we have more want to go than we have space for (about 13) we will open a second team for July 31 – August 15th.

The cost for the trip will depend on the cost of air travel, but the cost last Summer was around $2600.  If you are interested in going please respond back as soon as possible.  We will sign up the first 13 for the July Team.  I will need a $100 deposit from each person by March 1st.  We will need the full cost of the airline tickets by April 1st (about $2000).  If this seems impossible, pray!  If God wants you to go He will make a way.

We have high expectations of all participants!  This is not just a show up and go mission…we expect to have several training sessions where we will talk more about what we expect and share the vision God has given us for Kabale!  You will have items you will be expected to bring and most of all you will be expected to have a deep personal relationship with God that you are prepared to share with those we will come in contact with.

What can you expect?  To make connections with team members and children that will last a lifetime. To be changed as you walk out your faith in a foreign country.  To be overwhelmed by your own wealth when you
walk among those living in poverty. To be blessed by serving widows and orphans as God has commanded us to do! To come back changed!!

We have a lot of people who have expressed an interest in going, but if you know someone else who is interested please pass this e-mail along to them and have them contact us.  If for some reason these dates don’t work for you we will also be taking a team in January and/or February 2020 (unless the Lord comes back first!).

We are really excited about what God has in store for us together as we seek to be His hands and feet in Uganda!
