Doreen is eleven years old and she is the second born of three children. She is currently in primary five, she hopes to be an engineer, from where she is coming from this is rare but hopes to be one of the first.
Doreen’s mother is a stay-at-home mother while the father works at a local petrol station. They are a single income household and this is because the wife has health complications hence not being able to work. With just one income, it’s been very hard for them to get by when it comes to meeting their children’s needs. Doreen is usually unable to complete a school term because of not being able to pay her school tuition.
