What a crazy time we are living in! These extraordinary times have affected what the ministry looks like in Uganda. We just learned 2 days ago that our July team’s flights have been cancelled. We are evaluating what our next step is.  Our last planned trip that is still scheduled this year is for September.  We will see what the Lord has planned…

Below are some thoughts shared by Donna & Amos…

LOVE IS A VERB!  Love is the personal essence of God; it’s a priority commandment; it’s the preeminent grace and it’s the proof of discipleship! (Mark Hitchcock)

And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, BUT have not love, I AM NOTHING. (God – I Cor. 13:2)

God has given us the awesome privilege of doing exactly what He has commanded us to do in His Word; and He has supplied our every need and worked out every detail! He is amazing and He is Sovereign. (James 1:27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained from the world.)

We want to say thank you and give you a report of all that God has been doing during this shut down. (As reported by our Ugandan Director, Amos)

Because of your support, Two Roads Foundation has had a huge transformational impact on so many lives in Kabale. In 2019 we were able to sponsor 121 students; 49 in primary, 56 at secondary, and 16 at the university level. Without your sponsorship these students would not be in school getting a quality education!

Small Group with social distancing!

At the heart of Two Roads Foundation is the belief that lives cannot be transformed without the transformation of God.  We started Two Roads to help these children spiritually, mentally, socially, and physically. Over the year we have held more than 70 sessions with the kids grouping them according to their age group and level of education, discipling them. This has been done every weekend during the school term and three times a week during the school holidays. God has blessed as we have worked with children from broken families and therefore with little or no moral and spiritual guidance. He is truly transforming them and growing them. Please pray for these times.

We also understand the importance of family and are equipping the parents, or single parents, with the skills and resources they need to support their children. This gives the parents dignity and hope. And we are discipling them as well spiritually with men and women groups. We have trained more than 20 mothers and donated over 15 sewing machines to them. This has helped many to meet the basic needs of life. Looking in the future, this is a program we need and want to expand more. We intend to do more projects with them to enhance their household income. Our philosophy is that we don’t want to take the parent’s position in society but rather come alongside them to realize their fullest potential.  Please pray for this.

When the Covid 19 pandemic hit the world many Uganda communities lost their daily income and so were the families we minister to. They were at risk of starvation. We have donated 4000 tons of maize flour, and 3000 tons of beans to families over 3 months. More than 150 families were fed. We thank you for allowing God to use you in this ministry. It has opened many doors for showing love and evangelizing and discipling.

The needs are still very great and overwhelming to us, but are nothing to God. He will move and work in amazing ways beyond what we can even think or imagine! Our God created all things out of nothing!!!!! He is Sovereign. We give Him all the glory.

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His face to shine upon us, that His way may be known on earth, His saving power among all nations. Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise You!

Love in Christ,

Donna and Greg

FYI: The oceans are beautiful, amazing, and mysterious – to us. God knows all about them. The average depth of the ocean is 12,100 feet – that’s more than 2 miles deep! Some parts are so deep they haven’t been explored yet. But they have discovered some amazing things like the giant sunfish which can weigh up to 5,000 pounds; the fangtooth fish – which has fangs; and the blobfish – which looks like a 12 inch blob of pink goo!!!   Look them up!!! What an amazing God!
