To all, Most newsletters focus on the good stuff that is happening! But we all know that doing ministry is messy.  Invading Satan’s strongholds is not smooth sailing. Especially for the last few months, our staff and children in Kabale have been facing battles from the enemy.  Ephesians 5 tells us we aren’t battling flesh and blood, but powers and dominions and evil forces in the heavenly realm!! Please lift up the ministry, our staff and children. Battle in prayer for our precious ones in...

To All, All our ministry starts with identifying needy children and finding sponsors for them who will help meet their needs!  We are excited to have had 7 children sponsored over the last few weeks!! We have 3 new children sponsored and 4 children picked up for sponsorship who had lost their sponsor.  Most of these sponsorships resulted from Charlene Semkins reaching out to an adult fellowship group at her church in Texas. She “recruited” 4 new sponsors!!  Thank you Charlene!  Maybe you know...

To All,  We returned home in August, but our staff labors on there in Uganda.  Please continue to lift them up as they do the daily work of keeping up with 130 children and their families.  We have lots of plans that we developed while we met with our staff there in July and August.  There are some exciting things just on the horizon!  Let me share just three of them.  1. Our Two Roads Board met in August and approved a unanimous resolution to move toward buying a property in Kabale to serve...

To All, Greetings from Kabale! Donna & I have been in Kabale this last month with Jess & Beth Ritchie and our incredible 2 Roads staff.  We arrived in Entebbe Uganda under the CDC’s level 4 (do not travel mandate).  Having not been able to travel here for the past year and half we were quite determined to come.  God made a way! There are lots of restrictions here due to COVID, but we are still able to do God’s work.  Each day we have been able to meet with 5 or 6 children.  We started...

As 11 team members prepare to go to Uganda next week (!) we were reminded yesterday how fragile things in this world are! The government of Uganda has implemented a partial shut-down of the country.  We are still waiting and watching to see what this means.  For now, the airport is still open.  Schools have been cancelled, a curfew has been put in place, large gatherings prohibited, etc. Praying that we will still be able to make the trip.  I often think of the apostle Paul at times like...

To all, Soon school here in America will be out for the summer!  For most of our kids in Uganda they will continue as some of them just returned to school.  Some may get only a 2-week break and then start right back.  As I mentioned last month, most of our sponsored children are back in school. Our sponsored children are actually very excited to be back at school. We realize that most of you who read our newsletter already sponsor children.  For that we are very grateful!! We have about 130...

April 3, Newsletter

To all, Many of our students have returned to school or will return soon.  I want to contrast 2 young ladies who both live in Kabale Uganda, Angel and Janet.  A year ago, they were in the same situation.  They both live in “families” with 8 children.  They attended school sporadically when there was enough money scraped together to send them.  Now one, Angel, has a sponsor but Janet still does not.  This is Angel.  Angel is the sixth of eight children and she is 16 years old. Her mother works...

Jan 7, 2021 Writing this newsletter comes at a time of great turmoil and uncertainty in our country.
